Abdominal Fat Dissolving in Cyprus: A Medical Approach to Stubborn Belly Fat

Stubborn abdominal fat is one of the most common body-image concerns we see at Alpha Medical — and one of the most resistant to diet and exercise alone. Abdominal fat dissolving injections (injection lipolysis) offer a non-surgical option for patients who want to refine their silhouette without the risks and downtime of liposuction.

Demand has grown rapidly in Cyprus, with patients travelling to our Limassol clinic from Nicosia, Larnaca and Paphos — as well as internationally from Israel and the Gulf.

Who It Is For — and Who It Is Not For

Abdominal fat dissolving is for patients with localised pockets of fat and reasonable skin quality who are within 5-10kg of their goal physique. It is not a weight-loss treatment, and patients who are significantly overweight are better served by medical weight management (including GLP-1 peptides) before moving to body sculpting.

How It Works

A specialised lipolytic formulation is injected into the subcutaneous fat of the abdomen using a grid pattern. The compound destroys fat cells, which are then cleared by the body over 6-12 weeks. Once destroyed, those fat cells are gone permanently — though remaining cells can still enlarge if weight is regained.

Expected Results and Recovery

Swelling, firmness and tenderness for 5-10 days are normal. Most patients see the first visible change at 4-6 weeks, with full results between 8-12 weeks after the final session. Typical protocols in Cyprus are 2-4 sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart.
